Wireless Projector Reviews - Our Top 4 Picks

ASUS P3B Wireless LED Projector

Key Features:

  • 800 Lumens
  • Native Resolution: 1280x800
  • 30,000 hour LED lifespan
  • Throw Ratio: 1:1
  • 2 Watt speaker
  • Contrast Ratio: 10,000:1

PROS

  • Extremely portable
  • Crisp quality
  • Great contrast ratio
  • Long lifespan

CONS

  • Not very bright
  • Weak built-in speaker

Overview:

An Extremely Portable Projector

The ASUS P3B Wireless LED Projector is especially useful. Not only is it wireless, bit it is also extremely portable. It is very small and super lightweight. It makes it a piece of cake to take anywhere with you on the go. It is also battery powered, so no pesky power cord will have to dangle from your ceiling when you mount it.

This projector has 800 lumens. The amount of lumens indicates how bright the projected image will be on your screen or wall. This is not particularly bright for a projector. Most projectors have at least 1,000 lumens. However, it is still bright enough with all of the lights turned off.

The projector has a native resolution of 1280x800. This resolution is just below HD. That being said, the quality is still almost as crisp and clear as HD. Those Blu-ray movies will still look absolutely fantastic with this projector. The contrast ratio of the ASUS P3B Wireless LED Projector also helps make the image quality on the screen look terrific. The projector’s contrast ratio is 10,000:1. This is an especially great contrast ratio. It will help the colors appear more vivid on the screen.

The lifespan of the LED lamp on the projector is 30,000 hours long. This is a very long time. Think about how long a light bulb typically lasts in your house. It is most likely a lot shorter than 30,000 hours. This lifespan essentially means that you either will not ever have to purchase a new light for the projector, or that you will not have to replace it for a very long time.

Not only is it both wireless and portable, but it also has a built-in speaker. If you are fine with the speaker that the projector comes with, then that means you do not need to bother spending even more money buying an external speaker along with your projector. That being said, the speaker that is built into it is only 2 Watts. A 2 Watt speaker is not particularly loud. The audio does come in clearly, just not super loud. You will most likely be fine if you are sitting close to the projector while playing your video game or watching your movie.

The projector’s throw ratio is 1:1. This is a particularly low throw ratio, which means that you do not need to have your projector far away from the screen to have it produce a clear image. So, if you are someone like me who does not have a huge living room, this is very helpful, and you might want to take a look at the best short-throw projectors available.

That being said, if you planned on setting up the projector in the back of a large room, this may not be the device for you.

Downsides

Using a Remote is Required

There are buttons on both the device itself and the remote that comes with it. The remote is fine. However, the buttons on the projector are finicky. They stick when you try to push them, and can sometimes register the button input incorrectly.

As stated above, the image produced by this projector is not super bright. This limits the type of setting where you would be able to use the projector in. It can only really be used in really dark rooms. If you wanted to multitask while watching a movie on it, you would have to do so without really being able to see it.

The speaker is clear, but the volume level is pretty weak. If you do not plan on sitting right next to the projector, you might want to look into also buying an external speaker.

If you are looking for a great wireless projector for any of your visual entertainment needs and decide that the ASUS P3B Wireless LED Projector is the right choice for you.

Epson Home Cinema 2150 Wireless Projector

Key Features:

  • 2,500 Lumens
  • Full HD 1080P Resolution
  • Contrast Ratio: 60,000:1
  • Image Size: up to 132 Inches

PROS

  • Amazing for Gaming
  • High brightness
  • No lag

CONS

  • Unreliable lamp
  • Prone to dead pixels

Overview:

Perfect for Gaming

The Epson Home Cinema 2150 Wireless Projector is outstanding. It is perfect for gaming. Hooking your PS4 Pro up to this thing is an incredible experience because of the detailed visuals and screen size. There is also no lag like some projectors have with video games consoles.

This projector has Full HD 1080p resolution. This is the standard resolution you would get with the clearest televisions or projectors, other than 4K. Furthermore, it's one of the best 1080p projectors available.

The projected image is absolutely beautiful. To add to this, the contrast ratio is 60,000:1. The colors are extremely vibrant, helping the visuals truly stand out compared to other projectors or even TVs.

The image size can go up to 132 inches. That is four times larger than a 60 inch television. Imagine what it is like to play on a screen this huge during your Super Smash Bros. parties. It really is like having a mini movie theater in your living room.

The projector lamp uses 2,500 lumens. This is a pretty good brightness for a projector. It would allow you to see the projected image easily without having the room be completely dark.

Downsides

A Not-So Reliable Lamp

The lamp on the projector lasts long enough to get a lot of enjoyment out of (potentially up to a few hundred hours), but it can die out within as low as 50 hours. I mean, that is plenty of gaming and movie time, but it is nothing compared to the life of other projector lamps.

Shutting down the projector when the source is off can be problematic. It does not always shut off automatically when you turn your video game console or Blu-ray player off.

The projector can be prone to having a dead pixel here and there after getting a lot of use out of it.

If you are playing or watching something on this projector that contains a bright, sunny scene, the blacks on screen look more gray and sometimes washed out.

The Epson Home Cinema 2150 Wireless Projector is overall one of the coolest wireless projectors out there.

BenQ SH910 Cinema Class HD DLP Projector

Key Features:

  • 4,000 Lumens
  • Contrast Ratio: 3,000:1
  • Image Size: 24 to 300 inches
  • Full HD 1080P Resolution
  • 20 Watt Speaker

PROS

  • Huge image size
  • Amazing Value
  • Great built-in speakers

CONS

  • Difficult to Align Properly
  • Too bright sometimes

Overview:

BenQ is an overall fantastic producer of projectors. The BenQ SH910 Cinema Class HD DLP Projector is one of the best home theater projectors on the market.

An Incredibly Bright Projector

At 4,000 lumens, it is incredibly bright. The projected image can be clearly seen despite the room it is in not being that dark. That is pretty impressive for a projector.

The contrast ratio is certainly a pleasure to have with this bright screen. The contrast ratio is 3,000:1. A contrast ratio this good really makes the colors pop more than the average projector. On top of that, the projector’s resolution is Full HD 1080P. The visuals on the screen will be an absolute joy to look at for both video games and movies.

The image size the projector can get to is from 24 inches to 300 inches. Having a picture be that huge will certainly allow you to get the full impact of its astounding visuals. Having projector like this when The Last of Us 2 releases would lead to the perfect gaming experience.

The built-in speaker is way better than the speaker in the majority of other projectors. The speaker in this projector is 20 Watts. That is much louder than a projector typically is.

Any fan noise will be completely drowned out. There is absolutely no need for any external speakers to be used with this projector. The audio produced by the device itself sounds like you are using a sound bar.

Downsides

Difficult to Align Properly

When the projector is first set up, it is not aligned correctly. Getting it aligned to fit the screen or wall you want to show it on can be a hassle in the first place.

When you get the size of the projected image close to the maximum, the edges can become blurry and washed out.

Because the projected image is so bright, scenes that are supposed to look dark actually appear kind of gray, which can be pretty annoying.

The BenQ SH910 Cinema Class HD DLP Projector is one of BenQ’s best wireless projectors.

LG Electronics PF1000U Smart Home Theater Projector

Key Features:

  • Full HD 1920x1080P Resolution
  • Image size up to 100 inches
  • 1,000 Lumens
  • 30,000 Hour Lamp Life
  • Ultra Low Throw Distance

PROS

  • Full HD Resolution
  • Amazing Value
  • Long-lasting lamp

CONS

  • Too small
  • Low brightness
  • Not good for large rooms

Overview:

Everyone knows that LG is a fantastic electronics company that makes terrific products. The same goes for their projectors. The LG Electronics PF1000U Smart Home Theater Projector is an especially spectacular wireless projector.

The image size of up to 100 inches may not be the biggest size for a projector, but it is still certainly big enough. It is still bigger than any television, so it will absolutely suffice for playing video games or watching movies on a gigantic screen.

An Ultra Low Throw Distance

The projector has a very low throw distance. This means that the projector is able to produce a very clear image without having to be super far from the screen. This is great if you have a smaller living room.

It also means that the image can still reach large sizes without needing to be close to the screen, which is also helpful.

However, it does also mean that if you set the projector up far away from the screen, the image can get blurry and hard to see. If you were planning on setting it up toward the back of a large living room, you might experience issues with the picture quality.

The 30,000 hour lamp life of the projector is super helpful. The lamp lasts long enough that you most likely will not have to replace it, at least for a very long time.

The 1,000 lumens is not quite as bright as most other projectors can get. However, it is still bright enough to see the darkest scenes in a movie or video game.

The 1920x1080P full HD resolution also helps see the on-screen visuals. The HD resolution causes the picture quality to truly be top-notch.

Downsides

Not Great For Larger Rooms

The ultra low throw distance may benefit those of us who would plan on setting up the projector in a smaller space. However, it causes limitations. It is not great for larger living rooms like many people would want.

Because it only has 1,000 lumens, it is not super bright. This is a problem since the projector shows any image by producing light. If it is not bright, then it can be difficult to see.

Even though it has a short throw distance, it still cannot be too close to the wall or screen. Having it be too close can cause the projected image to appear blurry. You have to find that sweet spot for where to set the device up.

The LG Electronics PF1000U Smart Home Theater Projector is a very reliable piece of equipment and is great for those late night gaming sessions.

Having a projector leads to exciting experiences for movie buffs and gamers. However, things can get tricky once you need to find somewhere to plug the projector in, or if you are stuck with cords hanging down from your ceiling after you mount it. That is why we compiled this list of fantastic wireless projectors to help you decide which will be the best fit for your entertainment needs.
